If you&rsquo;ve ever talked to a recent bride, you&rsquo;ve likely heard one phrase over and over: &ldquo;It all went by so fast &mdash; and it was so stressful.&rdquo; As a seasoned St. Louis wedding photographer, I&rsquo;ve seen this firsthand. But the good news? It doesn&rsquo;t have to be that way.
If you&rsquo;re a current bride-to-be starting your planning journey or you're just a few months out from your big day, let&rsquo;s break down why wedding days get so stressful &mdash; and what you can do to actually enjoy every minute.
<h3 style="margin-top: 14pt; margin-bottom: 4pt;">1. Trying to Do Everything Yourself</h3>
One of the biggest mistakes I see is brides trying to juggle planning, logistics, and emotions all on their own. Your wedding day isn&rsquo;t the time to be the point person for deliveries or directing guests to the ceremony site.
Fix it: Delegate! Hire a day-of coordinator (even if you DIY-ed most of the planning) or lean on trusted friends and family. Having someone else answer the last-minute questions will free you up to be present. Need a recommendation of planners I love to work with? I have a list.&nbsp;
<h3 style="margin-top: 14pt; margin-bottom: 4pt;">2. Not Building in Buffer Time</h3>
Let&rsquo;s be honest &mdash; something will run late. Whether it&rsquo;s hair and makeup or a groomsman forgetting his tie, delays happen.
Fix it: Pad your schedule! As a seasoned St. Louis wedding photographer, I always build in extra time between major events like getting ready, first looks, and the ceremony. That way, if we run late, you're still on track &mdash; and stress-free.

You don&rsquo;t need 47 Pinterest-inspired moments crammed into one day. Too much detail can lead to decision fatigue and overwhelm.
Fix it: Simplify. Choose a few meaningful traditions and let the rest go. Focus on the experience, not just the aesthetics. Trust me &mdash; your future self will thank you.

Sounds silly, but it happens all the time. You&rsquo;re excited, nervous, and running on adrenaline &mdash; and suddenly, it's 3 p.m. and you haven&rsquo;t had a bite.
Fix it: Assign a bridesmaid to be your snack-and-water hero. Protein bars, fruit, and plenty of water will keep you energized (and help avoid that fainting feeling at the altar!).

Photos are one of the only things that last beyond the wedding day &mdash; and your photographer can either add to the chaos or calm it.
Fix it: Hire me! Haha. My calming presence and experience on how to keep the day flowing. I am organized, communicative, and flexible. I prevent stressful moments into joyful memories.

Last but not least, the expectation that everything must go perfectly is a recipe for anxiety. Real talk: something will go &ldquo;wrong,&rdquo; but it won&rsquo;t ruin your day unless you let it.
Fix it: Focus on what matters &mdash; marrying your person. The messy, unplanned moments are often the ones you&rsquo;ll treasure most.

Why Wedding Days Get So Stressful (And How to Fix It)

I have taught photography and graphic design in high school and eventually, I bought my own camera to put into practice what I was teaching! I'm a bubbly & positive kind of vibe girl. I love iced coffee, pink, and anything with sparkles. I've been a wife for the last 10 years to my husband Phil. We live in St. Louis, MO and have a beautiful German Shepard, Norah Grace.

Photography has been a passion of mine long before it was my profession. My dad is a photographer and has encouraged me throughout the years. I still get so excited to send him images that I know he will love too. 
On your wedding day, you'll most likely see me tear up and smile a lot. I love connecting with both families that are joining together on the wedding day. This is the start of a new chapter for the couple, and to be the one to protect those memories, I do not take that job lightly. 
Finally, I value relationships and friendships with all of my couples. We spend a lot of time together during the process from when you sign a contract to wedding day, and I enjoy getting to know my couples on a deeper level.
